Code of Conduct for IAHA Members

International Association for Hearing Accessibility (IAHA) members are people or organisations who are engaged in the manufacturer of Assistive Listening technology. Only IAHA Members are able to vote at IAHA meetings.

Members will actively promote good practice, and adoption of these principles, to all parties involved in specification, installation, management and use of their Assistive Listening systems.

Members of IAHA will agree to conduct themselves in accordance with our Principles and recognise their responsibility to do whatever is reasonably possible to ensure Assistive Listening systems will:

Provide a genuine benefit to end-users

Provide a genuine benefit to end-users by delivering clear, practical improvements to their experience,whether through accessibility, ease of use, or meaningful functionality.

Be compliant with relevant performance standards

Ensure compliance with relevant performance standards to meet industry expectations and support reliability, safety, and user confidence.

Be compliant with relevant accessibility legislation

Ensure compliance with relevant accessibility legislation to meet legal obligations and support inclusive access for all users.

Have clear and visible signage

Provide clear and visible signage to indicate the presence and use of assistive listening technology, ensuring users are aware of available support.

Be installed and commissioned by suitably competent personnel

Be installed and commissioned by suitably competent personnel to ensure proper functionality, safety, and compliance with relevant standards.

Be properly managed and maintained by suitably competent personnel

Be properly managed and maintained by suitably competent personnel to ensure ongoing performance, reliability, and compliance.

Members will provide:

Accurate guidance and instructions

Provide clear, accurate guidance and instructions to ensure assistive listening technologies are used effectively and confidently.

Product documentation and specifications and product accessories

Ensure all products are supplied with complete documentation, specifications, and any necessary accessories to support correct installation and use.

Training as required to ensure their products and their Assistive Listening systems meet these requirements.

I wish to apply to be a full Member of IAHA

All applications shall be approved by the IAHA committee and an annual fee of £600 is payable on confirmation of acceptance.
